Con10gency Names Katherine Pankratz as New President, Recognizing Her Leadership & Commitment

Beaverton, OR – Con10gency is delighted today to announce the promotion of Katherine Pankratz to President of Con10gency Consulting as of October 1, 2023.


Katherine has been with Con10gency since incorporation in 2016 where she began as Director of Operations before becoming Vice President in 2018. She brings a breadth of experience in business management and a deep understanding of Con10gency’s mission and vision to this pivotal role.


Katherine was the cornerstone of Con10gency’s infrastructure creation in 2016 and 2017. She envisioned a dynamic framework with flexible operations structured to support both the immediate needs of a new, small business and the multi-million dollar organization it would become. Her leadership and skill have been instrumental in guiding Con10gency toward that growth over the years, including development and execution of marketing strategies, favorable partnerships, community engagement, new business, and profitability. She has worked closely with Con10gency Founder and CEO, Richard M. Smith, Jr., whose 30 plus years in the military and law enforcement balance well with Katherine’s nearly 20 years of experience in business to create a dynamic leadership team.

As President of Con10gency, Katherine is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of the company’s strategic direction in close concert with Con10gency CEO, Richard M. Smith, Jr. Katherine also works closely with the Con10gency sales team to drive business development, growth, and improvement in accordance with overall corporate strategy while ensuring the organization achieves strategic goals at the optimum pace.


Katherine began her career in retail management before moving to VTM Group, Con10gency’s sister company, where she started as an Account Coordinator in the Initiatives & Alliances (I&A) division in 2006. Katherine worked extensively with VTM clients and gained valuable experience and insights into business during her ten plus year tenure in I&A. She provided strategic counsel and oversaw day-to-day operations for high-tech standards initiatives ranging from small to extra-large in both budgets and membership sizes. Katherine specialized in employing fair and reasonable policies and procedures to guide organizations through their lifecycles. Her contributions to clients stand as best practices within I&A today and are responsible for her prior appointments as executive director for organizations including AVnu Alliance®, HomeGrid Forum®, and DASH Industry Forum as well as her five-year role managing the PCI-SIG®.


Katherine holds an M.B.A from Villanova University with a concentration in Strategic Management and Data Analytics/Marketing and received a B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising from Gonzaga University.
